Rehabilitation providers assist in maintaining injured workers at work or return to work in a timely manner using a multi-disciplinary approach. They will consult and liaise with the injured worker, employer, the medical team, and insurer to facilitate the return to work process. In circumstances where the worker is unable to return to their pre-injury occupation or job, they will provide assistance with identifying and finding new work. Early intervention is recognised as being beneficial in avoiding the problems associated with prolonged time of work.

The services may include:

  • Case management
  • Workplace assessments
  • Activity of daily living assessments and assistance provision
  • Ergonomic assessments
  • Workplace modification
  • Return to work plans
  • Vocational counselling
  • Support counselling
  • Medical case conferencing
